Stephen, a native of Wilmington, N.C., left the complexities of city life and returned to his home state in 1994, to reside on a peaceful old farm east of Charlotte to raise thoroughbred/paint horses.   Naturally these horse are finding their way into his work.   "The horse, like the dancer, makes for a powerful image to sculpt.   They are both born to move and evoke a mystical passion within us."
